Namchi, August 25, 2019: Namchi Public School, Namchi, won the Annual ARCEIS Inter-School Cultural Fest 2018, Competition. NPS hosted the cultural fest in their state-of-the-art Multipurpose Auditorium. The theme of the competition was “Unity in Diversity”. The cultural dance extravaganza showcased the rich cultural heritage of our country. The cultural fest provided a unique platform to the students to showcase their talent and ingenuity. The Chief Judge of the competition was Mr Mingma Dorjee Lepcha, the first dancer from Sikkim, to have appeared on dance reality show. The other two judges were Mrs. Martha M. Moktan and Mrs. Betlina Pradhan.
St. Thomas’s School, Gangtok, bagged second position and St. Xavier’s School, Pakyong, bagged third position. The other school that took part in the cultural fest was St. Mary’s Convent School, Gyalshing. The audience were enthralled to see the dancers performing with props and costumes to perfection and each team was given a rousing applause for their dances. NPS’ Girls dance troupe also performed on the occasion. NPS Principal, Rev. Fr. George A. D’Souza, thanked Mr Mingma D. Lepcha for gracing the occasion and also thanked the participants of the ARCEIS Schools for participating in the Cultural Fest.
