ADMISSION

ADMISSION PROCESS

In order to apply for admission to Namchi Public School, you have to procure a Registration / Application Form, which is available from the School office along with the Prospectus or Download from here. A student can be registered with the School by depositing the Registration Form along with the specified Registration and Processing Fee. (Please note that registration is only valid for the year for which the child is registered and is neither refundable nor transferable. Moreover, the mere fact of registration does not guarantee admission which is subject to testing, interview and the rules given herewith.)
New students can be admitted to Classes I to IX and XI, depending on the availability of seats in respective classes. Admission tests may be conducted in English and Mathematics for some Classes. The date for admission test will be made known by telephone. Only the successful candidates will be granted admission. The Principal is the sole authority concerning all admissions and will discuss admission procedures with parents only. Text books and stationery will be provided by the school on dates prescribed.

Documents Required :

Along with the completed registration form the
parent/guardian also has to submit :

  • 2 passport size photograph of the child.
  • Copy of birth certificate.
  • Health certificate.
  • Latest marksheet

GENERAL RULES:

  1. Enrolment at NPS implies on the part of the students and parents willingness to comply with the rules and regulations of the school.
  2. The school year begins in February and ends December.
  3. Date of Birth once recorded at the time of admission cannot be changed.
  4. Students who fail twice in three successive years may not continue in the school.
  5. The decision of the school authorities with regard to promotion is final.
  6. The outfit list is provided separately and must be conformed to in its entirety.
  7. Out station students must reside in the School Hostel.

EXAMINATION AND PROMOTION:

Pass marks for all students of Primary & Higher Secondary section in all subjects are 40%. Annual reports show marks/grades. Promotion depends on the student’s performance throughout the year and not merely on marks scored in any particular examination. If a student is absent for term examinations, he/she will not appear for it at a later date. There is no system of re-examination or re-consideration of a student who has not been promoted. 5% marks are given to students who represent the school in sports, games and other inter-school competitions.
